Tolstoy

Another important reference is that to the author Leo Tolstoy and his book ‘Family Happiness’. Christopher finished reading the 'Family Happiness' in the Magic Bus. This scene shows that at the end Christopher changed his mind on the meaning of life; he realized that for happiness you actually do need other people.

It is also interesting how many similarities Tolstoy and Christopher actually have; both were born in wealthy families; both have had issues with their fathers and both have created alter egos once they decided to flee their family homes.
